IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH & WAYS TO STAY STRESS-FREE!

There is a connection between nutrition, stress and mental disorders. We know that nutrition plays a key role in the onset as well as the severity of a condition. But stress is another major factor, to have an impact on your health.

The most common disorders are depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Depression is the most common disorder associated with major symptoms such as increased sadness and anxiety, loss of appetite, depressed mood, and a loss of interest in pleasurable activities.

1. Exercise & Burn It Out 
People who exercise daily are less likely to experience stress and anxiety issues as it lowers the stress hormones. Also, the more regular release of endorphins further improves your mood. So, whenever you’re stressed, just sweat it out, instead of being aggressive.

2. Sleep Well 

Sleep helps improve your mood, elevate serotonin levels and reduce cortisol hormones. It is the reason babies and kids stay happiest! Maintain a fixed sleep pattern to promote better sleep and do not compromise on the number of hours.

Chamomile tea helps reduce stress and anxiety. Whenever you feel stressed out, or sip your favourite cup of tea and consider adding tulsi leaves as well.

4. Use Calming Scents 

Using essential oils which have a soothing effect or burning a candle, can help provide you with soothing effect. Use of scents to boost good mood is all known as aromatherapy. It can help reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality.

5. Spend time with family and friends 

Staying connected with your near and dear ones can give you a great sense of belongingness. Also, discussing things with someone you trust may help you get through stressful times or make a better decision.

6. Practice meditation and Yoga

Meditation helps you to focus better, improve vision and strengthens your mind. Similarly, yoga works on lowering your stress levels and promotes overall health.
